Took van in for power steering noise....low and behold they found 5 grand worth of problems and no power steering fixed, on top gave me a 80 dollar fee for vehicle inspection on a bunch of stuff but not the power steering....took it to another place same day I picked it up and had it fixed ( had a air leak causing noise) also found front shocks had been loosened to make a clank in the front end that was never there before......fyi I am a auto technician with a college degree as well as a master plumber and feel more time was spent looking for problems to gain more money via sales than fixing the one hired to do.
Cassidy, we're sorry that you felt you had an unpleasant experience with us. When our technician listened to your vehicle with you in the parking lot, you said the slight chirp you both could hear was the noise, just not as loud, but that noise did not change when the wheel was turned. That’s why we felt that the noise was not in the steering itself. As for the total of $4000 in items which we listed for you to consider, all of those came from the visual inspection we do on every vehicle we have in the shop. That price is not something you were charged, it was the services that we recommended you address. We feel it is our job to make people aware of what is going on with their vehicle so they do not get surprised by needed repairs and also to avoid repairs that may result from simple issues that did not get addressed in a timely manner. Our technicians would have no reason to loosen the bolts on your vehicle as they are not paid per job. We are sorry if there was any miscommunication and if you would like to reach out to us to discuss the issue farther, we would be happy to speak with you.
