Just like an engine, the transmission of your vehicle houses a lubricating fluid to ensure all gears and valves operate smoothly and allow your torque converter (automatic) to apply smooth torque transition from the engine. Over time and use the quality of this fluid will degrade and can accelerate the failure of a unit. A transmission flush is recommended once every 60K miles to completely replace almost all degraded fluid with new, even in sealed systems.
